Our institute involved in public service activities looks back on a long history.The legal predecessor of the Company was established by way of merging private entreprises in April 1919.It was in 1994 - after the political changes of 1989 - when the decision was made about the courrent form of operations.As a public limited company owned by the Municipality of Budapest,the Company is the exclusive owner of 14 cemeteries in Budapest. The National Graveyard in Fiumei Street is also managed by the Company.

Our institute is the largest single undertaking service - provider in Hungary and in Europe,as well.We are deservedly proud of the fact that our quality assurence system has been ISO certified for years, and this it guarantees that our clients receive the very services they demand and satisfied with. In Hungary,our Company has been the first to obtain internationally acknowledged certification for quality requirements covering the entire range of undertaking services,maintenance and operation of cemeteries,as well the incineration of the deceased. Essentially,all of our cemeteries are parks arranged and maintained to high standards.With its unique flore and statue park,the National Graveyard in Fiumei Street is a repository for the great personalities of the Hungarian Nation.The contiguous green areas of Újköztemető (New Public Cemetery )are themselves larger than District 5 of Budapest.Established in 1991,the Funeral Museum with its incomparable collection has global reputation.

Our cemeteries are not only places of piety and tribute,but at the same time offer values as embodied in their unique flora,walkways surrouinded by rows of trees and artworks of sculpture. As the largest undertaking company in Hungary,we take the mission to nurture and develop funeral culture of the country.

Activities

Our complex activities are besed on a properly organised system and modern technologies.Apart from the traditional (coffined) and incinerated (urned) ways of funerals,we have been providing our clients with the oppertunity for years to disperse the incinerated mortal remains. In relation to the main activities,we offer the entire range of auxiliary services,as from a wide selection of floristic products to the mintenance of graves.With a view to any respective regulatory requirements,we are also open to undertaking services meeting specialized demands. The maintenence of our cemeteries is deemed as a priority task of ours.

Fact and figures

On a yearly basis,the Company is involved in more than 20.000 undertaking services ,as supported by our 600 permenent employees and 100 suppliers and subcontractors. In connection with the public services offered,the Company uses officially fixed prices established by the Municipality of Budapest .
