If a person deceases at their home
The General Practitioner (on duty) must be notified so that they can carry out a post-mortem examination. The physician arranges for transportation of the deceased. Our institute has a dispatcher service for reporting deaths which operates around the clock.
You can contact us at the following numbers:
+36 1 262-8733; +36 1 261-0737
We provide non-stop deceased transportation services and, based on calls from GPs, arrange for the transportation of dead bodies from their homes possibly within 4 hours. Death is one of the most shattering events in human life, and so we intend to act with great responsibility in every case when the passing of a person is reported to us. Therefore, calls made from and received to the phone numbers indicated above are recorded and recordings are retained for a while.
Death in a hospital
The Post-mortem Examination Certificate and the “Record on the Notification of Death” Form are issued by the hospital’s admissions office and provided to a relative.
If you notice that someone has died at your workplace, in a public area or on a public transportation vehicle, please report it to the Police. For the removal of these bodies, we have a stand-by deceased transportation team, which is available to the Budapest Police Headquarters’ (BRFK) Life Protection Group around the clock.
If a Hungarian national passes away abroad, or if a foreign national passes away in Hungary, an international funeral director will make the necessary arrangements.
